Grainger Hines is a veteran actor with numerous credits and an amazing career consisting of more than 40 years in the entertainment business. He has a starring role in the upcoming Coen Brothers film, THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS, which is having its world premiere this September at the Venice Intentional Film Festival. The North American premiere will be in October at the New York Film Festival. Grainger spent two seasons on Steven Soderbergh's, Cinemax series, THE KNICK, with Clive Owen and played, Doc Whitehead in the AMC western drama, HELL ON WHEELS. A long career guest-starring on television, in such shows as, Bull, Elementary, Criminal Minds, Castle, The Good Wife, Blue Bloods, CSI, and many, more. He played the Secretary of the Navy, Gideon Welles in Steven Spielberg’s, LINCOLN. Other recent films are, THE FINAL INTERVIEW, which is being released on Blu-Ray in November and the recently released, FAMILY FANG, directed by Jason Bateman with Nicole Kidman. It has been thirty years since Grainger performed at the Opera House and worked with Michael Genevie. Their last collaboration was, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST, in 1988. Clarence Darrow is a play about the famous attorney reminiscing over his long and renowned career, touching on many of his famous trials, including the "Monkey" trial and the sensational Leopold-Loeb case. Darrow reviews much of America's legal history with salty humor, courtroom gusto, and human relish. His private life and many contemporary events, including labor conditions, are woven into this story of a man who accepted unpopular cases and defended unpopular causes. This champion of dissenters and underdogs was also a writer and lecturer, and he conjures up many famous people from his life and times.
